In case you haven’t heard, actors are now on strike . . . which means they CANNOT promote their projects or attend premieres.
Unfortunately, this didn’t work out for the “Haunted Mansion” premiere that took place at Disneyland on Saturday. But the show must go on.
Instead of actors from the movie like Jamie Lee Curtis, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, and LaKeith Stanfield walking the red carpet, there was Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen.
Director Justin Simien attended and said it was sad and disappointing to be there without his cast. Quote, “I’m not disappointed in this cast. I’m disappointed in the conditions that brought about this situation.”
(See pre-recorded clips of Jamie Lee, Owen, and LaKeith working as honorary cast members to surprise guests here and here.)
In other strike news . . .
Production on “Deadpool 3”, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two”, and “Gladiator 2” is halted. Also, Mandy Moore and her “This Is Us” costars joined the picket line on Friday for the first day of the strike.
