Woodward Community Media – Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 2026

Woodward Community Media, a division of Woodward Communications, Inc. (“WCM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of Personal Information we collect through this Radio Station website, how we use it, and the steps we take to protect it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information:

  • Personally Identifiable Information (PII): This includes your name, birth date, email address, postal address, phone number, and gender. We collect this when you voluntarily join our Loyalty Club, enter a contest, post on our social media feeds, or submit user-generated content (photos/videos).

  • Non-Identifiable/Aggregated Information: This includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, and browsing patterns. This information is collected via cookies and similar technologies to help us understand how visitors use our site.

Children’s Privacy: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13). If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Administer contests, select winners, and deliver prizes.

  • Manage your Loyalty Club membership and social media interactions.

  • Send newsletters, texts, or special offers (only if you have opted-in).

  • Improve our website performance and tailor content to our audience.

  • Respond to your direct inquiries or comments.

3. Sharing of Information

We value your trust. We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers: Third parties who perform services on our behalf (e.g., contest administration, email delivery). These parties are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential.

  • Sponsors: If you enter a contest, you may consent to sharing your info with co-sponsors as disclosed in the specific contest rules.

  • Legal Necessity: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of WCM.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies to enhance your experience.

  • Your Consent: By continuing to use our site, you consent to our use of cookies.

  • Manual Control: Because our site does not currently feature a granular "Cookie Settings" toggle, you must manage your preferences through your web browser. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or notify you when a cookie is sent.

5. Notice to International Users (EU/UK/EEA)

If you are visiting from the European Union, United Kingdom, or European Economic Area, please note the following under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Legal Basis: We process your data based on your Consent (for newsletters/texts/contests) and our Legitimate Interests (for site security and basic analytics).

  • Your Rights: You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data; the right to data portability; and the right to object to or restrict processing.

  • Data Transfers: By using this site, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.

  • Cookie Consent: As this site relies on "implied consent" (continued use), EU users who do not wish to have non-essential cookies placed on their device should adjust their browser to "Block all cookies" or cease using the service.

6. Notice to California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

Under California law, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected and how it is shared.

  • Delete personal information collected from you.

  • Opt-out of the "sharing" of your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

7. Security and Retention

We maintain reasonable technical measures, including firewalls and secure databases, to protect your information. We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or to comply with legal obligations.

8. Jurisdiction

This website is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. By using this site, you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Wisconsin.
