Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” controversy has reached the “wait’ll you hear this” phase.  A story spread over the weekend that Luke Bryan, in solidarity, pulled all his videos from CMT.

(In case you somehow missed it.  This whole thing started when CMT yanked Jason’s video from their rotation.)

But it wasn’t true.  It was in a story in the satirical website UpliftingToday.com.

The “story” had other silly stuff like Toby Keith starting his own TV network called “Real Country Television” . . . “the President” canceling his CMT subscription . . . and Jason creating his own small town called Aldeanville.  (Country Now)

But here’s something that really did happen.  Jason was his defiant self at his show in Cincinnati on Friday.

He told the crowd it had been “a long-ass week” and that he’s seen a lot of stuff suggesting things that were not true.  He said everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, but just because you believe it, doesn’t mean it’s true.

He added, quote, “You guys know how it is this day and age, cancel culture is a thing.  If people don’t like what you say, they try to make sure that they can cancel you, which means try and ruin your life, ruin everything.

“One thing I saw this week was a bunch of country music fans that can see through a lot of the bulls***.  I saw country music fans rally like I’ve never seen before and it was pretty badass to watch.  Thank you guys so much.”
