The finale of the 27TH SEASON of “The Bachelor” aired last night . . . and if you care, Zach did get engaged. He picked Kaity, the travel nurse, over Gabi, the “senior account executive.” (Here’s the blow-by-blow.)
But honestly, it doesn’t really matter who Zach picked, because these TELEVISED TOURNAMENTS OF LOVE rarely result in long-lasting love.
Only TWO couples from the previous 26 seasons of “The Bachelor” are still together. That’s less than 8%.
And only FOUR of the 19 couples from “The Bachelorette” are still together. That’s slightly better . . . 21%.
Between the two shows, it’s SIX of 45 couples . . . or 13%. But three have been together for three years or less, and one of them has yet to get married.
But still, cheers to Zach and (his future ex) Kaity!
