How Many Uses for a Fork Can You Think Of? Chatbots Have More Ideas Than 90% of Humans

Artificial intelligence isn’t just good at coming up with quick answers to save you from doing math . . . it can also DESTROY most people at “Scattergories”.

A new study challenged the creativity of chatbots by asking six of them . . . including ChatGPT . . . stuff like:  “How many uses for a FORK can you think of?”  They also asked about toothbrushes, pants, and tires.

Then, they asked a bunch of humans the same questions.

Chatbots were able to come up with more possibilities than 90% of humans . . . and there were plenty of creative responses from the bots, like how forks could be used for:  Making a sculpture . . . cleaning under your fingernails . . . and using them to fight off zombies.

They did get a little TOO creative in some instances, claiming forks could be helpful in removing ear wax . . . propping up a book . . . and playing “Tag”.

Copy.ai suggested that one, and explained, “You could play tag where everyone has to find each other with a fork before they get eaten by a bear.”  (???)

As for toothbrushes, the bots suggested they could be used for:  Exfoliating your skin and applying hair dye, which are acceptable . . . but there was also stranger stuff, like cleaning bird poo off a car and “combing pet fur.”

Experts believe that bots like these can be used for creative thinking . . . but they do acknowledge that ChatGPT has limited EMOTIONAL capabilities.

Also, artificial intelligence is incapable of TRIGGERING creativity.  It simply produces text outputs based on previous, learned responses.
