Speed dating gets a bad rap . . . with some singles claiming it doesn’t let them “really get to KNOW” the other person. But let’s be honest, for a first date, no one has time for that.
According to new research, the average single person needs just 19 minutes to know if they want a second date.
And it takes a BIGGER first impression to motivate people as they get older . . . 67% of Gen Z’ers say they have “high standards,” but that number jumps to 77% for Gen X.
So what are people looking for in 19 minutes? For 44%, physical appearance is important . . . 51% value good manners, 48% appreciate personality, and 47% want good conversational skills.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that physical appearance is less important . . . thanks to dating apps, most people already have a good idea what the other person looks like BEFORE the first date.
